This year, the annual music awards show scheduled to air Sunday 8-11:30pm on CBS, is all about Adele and the highly-anticipated performances.

Adele is performing for the first time since undergoing vocal-cord surgery last fall. Because of her surgery, she was forced to cancel multiple tour dates and postpone recording new material. The “Rolling In The Deep” singer has six nominations and is favored to win Record And Album Of The Year.

Love him or hate him, Kanye West leads the night with seven nominations. Despite being eligible for more awards than any other artist, West will not be performing in the show.

With 20, yes 20, performances expected throughout the telecast, many musical genres will have the spotlight. Coldplay and Rihanna will perform together as well as Tony Bennett and Carrie Underwood.

Chris Brown, Deadmau5, Foo Fighters, David Guetta and Lil Wayne will unite to perform a dance/electronica segment.

After recently announcing a reunion and tour, The Beach Boys will take to the stage for the first time in 20 years to perform with none other than Foster the People and Maroon 5. Other performers include Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj.

Finally, after the surprise death of Whitney Houston Saturday afternoon, Grammy officials are working around the clock to produce a moving tribute for the six-time Grammy winning singer. Jennifer Hudson, whose powerful voice is often compared to Whitney Houston’s, will join Chaka Khan for a powerful tribute according to People Magazine.
